A picture is worth a thousand words. This old saying is definitely true when it comes to the STIHL Catalogue, the 260-page reference work that gives you, our customers, a complete overview of the STIHL products on offer.
We would like to show you how the pictures for the 2014 STIHL Catalogue were shot. Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos:
For perfect lighting, a photo shoot starts early in the day. That’s because the first few rays of sun are often the most beautiful.
A beautiful backdrop really brings our products to life.
Sometimes we use a few tricks, such as a fog machine, to create a certain atmosphere for a picture.
You really have to put your whole body into it if you want to get the perfect shot. Photographers sometimes have to get down on the rocky ground…
STIHL products are used outdoors. That’s why we’re outside almost all day on our photo shoots, in the woods, …
… or on an olive plantation. We go where our tools are used every day.
Here’s Dr Nikolas Stihl (Chairman of the company’s Advisory Board) in make-up, getting ready to shoot the picture for the Editorial.
A whole team is in action with camera, lights and a laptop to get the perfect picture.
Choosing the pictures takes some time. Even small details play a major role.
The finished 2014 STIHL Catalogue will be published worldwide in more than 40 countries and in more than 20 languages. STIHL appeals to a wide range of customers, all of whom have different needs, depending on the region, vegetation, climate, use and legal regulations.
